Computer Recycling

At Dymin Systems, we fully understand the impact that e-waste has on the environment. Electronic waste represents just 2% of America’s trash but accounts for more than 70% of its toxic waste. We can help you dispose of your retired computer equipment in an earth-friendly manner so you don’t contribute to that problem! We can also accept a wide variety of portable electronics, scrap metal, and other e-waste.

Why choose to recycle with us?

We can understand the concern for who you choose to recycle your computers and IT assets with. Each of the three green arrows in the universal “recycling” symbol represents one action that contributes to long-term environmental sustainability. Dymin works to incorporate each aspect this philosophy into our day-to-day business in multiple ways.

The best way to manage waste is not to produce it in the first place! From our completely paperless ticketing and invoicing system to our break room with reusable dishes and utensils (provided so our employees can avoid using disposable goods), you can trust that Dymin Systems is a company that makes choices to reduce our environmental impact by reducing consumption.

We ensure all electronics equipment that comes into our facility is first evaluated for reuse. Anything that is still functional and useful is refurbished and resold or donated to non-profit organizations. Many non-functional devices can be repaired by our staff and reused, and many non-repairables can be broken down into usable parts.

Only when an item has been determined to be unrepairable or too-outdated do we responsibly recycle and dispose of it. Our recycling partners ensure that each piece of equipment is completely broken down into reclaimable raw materials like steel, copper, aluminum, and gold. Hazardous materials such as lead, mercury and cadmium are properly disposed of rather than dumped into landfills.

  • Free Recycling Pick-up If your business has ten or more pieces of equipment you’d like to recycle, we’ll make a trip to your location to pick it up, free of charge. Contact us to schedule a convenient time!
  • Certified Data Destruction We understand that the integrity of your data is important. We can provide you with a Certificate of Destruction to ensure that your data has been securely erased and eliminate your risk of liability.
  • Remarketing Some end-of-life IT assets still have considerable market value. We’ll research the value of any equipment recycled with us and offer you a fair price for them. We can also resell them for you and share the profits.

Home Consumers

  • Computer Recycling We can help you take care of your old, unused computer in an earth-friendly manner. We can also accept a wide variety of portable electronics, scrap metal, and other e-waste.
  • Trade-In ProgramIf you have a computer that you want to upgrade, but don’t want to deal with trying to sell it, we can help! We’ll pay cash for your used desktop and laptop computers. Not all computers will have trade-in value, but we offer free estimates
Generally, we won’t accept equipment older than 5 years of age, although we’ll evaluate anything for trade-in potential. If your computer was state of the art when it was purchased, even if it’s old it (or some of its parts) may still have resale value. We’ll even buy some broken computers and laptops!

What about my data?

We take data security very seriously. Any computer that comes through Dymin Systems first undergoes a data sanitation process. Each data storage device (hard drive, memory card, etc.) is connected to our LogiCube OmniClone 5Xi, which doesn’t just “delete” the data but completely overwrites it with a random pattern of 1’s and 0’s that renders your old data completely irretrievable. This is the same process recommended under the Department of Defense (DoD) guidelines (5220.22-M).

Our Recycling Process

  1. Computers are first evaluated to determine whether or not they are still viable for resale.
  2. Broken computers can be repaired, and all computers with current market value are fully refurbished and resold with a 90-day warranty to those looking for cost-effective alternatives to new computers.
  3. We also will donate computer systems to charities, non-profit organizations, or others in need.
  4. Any computer that is not viable to repair or resell will be dismantled into components; any parts with resale value will be sold in our retail store “bargain bin” or online.
  5. Any computer that is determined to have no resale value as a whole or in parts is responsibly disposed of by our partners, who reclaim re-usable raw materials and safely dispose of hazardous components.

By recycling your computer rather than throwing it in the trash, you help to reduce the total amount of e-waste and help to reduce the damage to our ecosystem.
